One of my colleagues has been stealing money from my work (it's a shop).

I phoned my manager this afternoon to tell him about her, but he's not back in work until Monday and told me he'll deal with it then.

I have to work with this girl again tomorrow.

She doesn't know that I saw her stealing but it's on the cameras.

Should this girl not be suspended straightaway?

What should I do?

go in, do your job, go home
I'm with bednobs - I think you've done all that you need to do.
He'll have to see the video
You've done your duty. It's no longer your problem.

I haven't said anything more.

Had to work with her again yesterday.

I'm off for a few days now so I'll let my boss "deal" with it.

Thanks
You have done everything required by law
( an employee has a 'beneficent' duty to report theft to the employer and you did that )
so leave it

is there anything you can do to prevent the little blagger from saying "its not me its him - dusty bin - the light fingered little liar !"
erm no
I think the video will tell all
what if she erases it ? not your concern ....

have a good few days off ....

Just to update, I went back to work this morning and I was told she's been suspended pending investigation.
Is the CCTV still running?
Good. Theft puts everyone using the till under suspicion.
You did the right thing Dusty. It's put your mind at rest and this girl will get her comeuppance.

Anyone who steals from their employer does not deserve the job, and as Ummm says a thief in the camp puts you all under suspicion.
