Swedish Settings!

Although I have never used it, because my sister-in-law is Swedish I installed the Swedish option in google chrome, a long tie ago.
For some reason today. most of my web pages appear in English UK but new sites and all of my settings are appearing in Swedish! I have uninstalled the Swedish language details and even done a system restore to before this problem started but I am still getting Swedish settings.
I am using Win8.1 and I am stumped by this problem.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated. x
