the bishop has just informed you that you have won $46 in the church raffle, if you send him your credit card details?

No jno, but sort of in the right direction, I don't expect you could imagine the right answer.
jomifl - please don't tell us the answer. I haven't a clue as to the answer but I am bored and it isn't time for bed.
If you pay them $46 they will forgive you your sins and guarantee you a place in heaven?
Question Author
Ratter, if only
Wolf63, I will not give the answer before monday, so think the unthinkable.
Given that the church in question is in Nigeria which has suffered terribly from religious terrorism from the likes of Boko Haram, is it the amount of money required to ensure that Emmanuel Redemption Church is divinely protected from bullets and bombs from those aforementioned pesky Islamic lunatics?

If only it was that naive Birdie.:-(
I have ground to a halt. I am amazed by the number of different churches in Nigeria, some have their own radio stations and one (at least) a TV station. The only $46 that I could find was the £46million that the pastors were scamming (sorry earning) off the parishioners.

Atheism is much cheaper. :-)

Any hints?

$46 is the fee charged by priest in that church for a special service....
Question Author
^...a priest..
Cirumcision costs that much. (Can't do that dollar sign)
Question Author
No Tilly2 this is a purely 'spiritual' service.
Exorcism?
Baptism by total immersion.
Is this how much they charge you for distance learning?
It's the fee they charge to redeem the soul of a departed loved one from Hell. This covers the cost of buying a scapegoat to carry the dear departed sins.
Question Author
Sorry Sandy, it is more the other way around.
Disinterment?
To ensure that a soul travels to the right place - heaven?
Does it have anything to do with the name of the church? The Emmanuel bit I mean.
