This is why we should have an opt out instead of an opt in.
Todays children should grow up knowing that when someone dies their organs get donated. As soon as my kids are old enough they will start giving blood. It's something we've always spoke about. So it's something they are happy to do (hopefully they don't turn out to be scared of needles) |

I fully agree ummmm. I've long been a passionate advocate of the idea of the opt out system

From my time in the Far East, there is a strong belief, led by Taoism, but including Shintoism, that the body should be complete for the proper release of the spirits.
I think you have to define which countries/races you mean when you say Asians..... |

Ummm yu dont know tat your kids will give blood...you hope they will, you may have brought them up to believe its a good thing, but you don't know.

The religious dont need organs to be donated to them, if their God has called them they shouldn't be fighting their Gods will! They just need faith :)
Ratter, they are quite happy to accept donated organs, they just like to keep theirs as they will need them in paradise. (assuming that god lets mean bastards into paradise). Yet another way in which religion affects those who don't subscribe.

Good for her, but does she have religion?
shes goes to church

Woof - Of course I don't know, but they are eager to. we, in case you ever need blood, can only hope that they do.

I carry a card saying I won't accept an organ nor should my family be approached for mine...
The same problem arises with the bone marrow register there is something about bodily integrity in some beliefs and also about the body belonging to 'god' after death not to man so it is not mans to give |
Will you accept blood Rowan?
Rowan, it seems that a body does not belong to god until 6 hours after death, if the Daily ail is to be believed.
Yes and would donate if I could but unfortunately I had a transfusion during the exclusion period. I'd donate bone marrow as well
