they're being rationed the demand has been so high
It's like snow in the PO, buy everything you can now meaning those who actually need stamps may not get any
Stupid
Royal Mail will probably change the colour of first class stamps this year just to thwart all those who have gone out and bought hundreds before the price rise.
It's not panic buying,it's thrift and prudence.I don't go out to pubs or clubs to spend my money but do about 20 quizzes a month,so the hike in prices will hit me hard.I send 1 stamp to get the quiz,1 stamp to send it back[hopefully completed] and 1 stamp to get my answers back.So now with most quizzes costing £1 the costs are mounting. If the PO had put prices up by 1p or 2p I wouldn't have bothered.
It has been proposed to let people on benefits get stamps at the 2011 prices.......just send your grannie or a pal on benefits down to the post office when you want stamps eh?.....if you are are already on benefits what a great way to make a few extra bob
The things we have that are open to abuse in this country never fails to amaze me......
I use at least six a week just sending off crossword puzzles. (The value of what I have won makes the cost / benefit ratio complete rubbish!) I also use quite a large quantity of stamps in my business so it makes sense to pre empt any price hike. I normally buy in bulk and at present I have about 100 first class and 48 second class, plus a few large stamps. Traci 66 ias right: the latest 1st class stamps are blue rather than gold and the book states that they are Jubilee issue stamps.
No. I know it would have made sense to but I don't use enough to get enthusiastic about it. As normal, I already have half a book in the wallet anyway.
I use stamps mainly for birthday and greeting cards - as some of them are local I thought it easier to drive around and put through the doors, but the price of petrol is even worse ................. can't win!
I just hope the post office is proud of its self .Lots of elderly people look foward to cards on birthdays and christmas cards .The happy look on a childs face when those cards drop through the letter box .Guessing the names of the sender .Its auny . no it auntie old neighbour Freda Jane ,no its cousin Sarah ,maybe nanna Gertie. It cousin Mertle outta jail yet mamma .No well its not her then .These wonderful moments have been snatched away from us humble folk by the big greedy post offic .What are they doing .Life will never be the same again .Think again Post office before it to late .Ps you cant put a five inside an email .
