anyone know origin and meaning of this name ??

I don't know the origin but are you sure it's 'hana' and not 'hanna'

I know quie a few 'Hanna's' and their from up north.
Hana? Sounds like you come from Japaneses heritage if you spelt it right, If the first letter was J, K or Z yo could have a hebrew or Irish bloodline.

From what I've briefly read it looks like it's a Scottish name. If that's true it's more likely that your GGG Grand father had connections with Northern Ireland.

I have never met any Hanna's from the south..

weird considering hes from my dads side and his family are welsh and go way back on the welsh connections side
