I have also posted this on Travel too - but wondered if anyone could please tell me where I could obtain any Edwardian or Victorian London street maps? Thanks.

Ask at your local library for a contact in your local Family History Society.  They will have all kinds of publications, quite possibly including reproductions of old maps.  I have a 1901 map of another area where I have an interest, obtained in this way.

Thank you for that Ewood27. My husband said he will pop along to the library on Saturday morning.
There is a bookshop attached to the Guildhall that sells such maps (in a book form) and also includes maps from Georgian and Elizabethan times - really fascinating.  Alternatively you could pop along the road from there to the Museum of London bookshop.

Thank you beweypm - I shall pass that info onto my husband. We live in Bedfordshire, but another trip to London would make a good day out.

Oh allen what a shame, the maps I mean, not the anorak! Thank you for that info, I shall peruse E-Bay for them - you never know.
Smudge - just to forewarn you in case you are thinking of doing a London trip at the weekend - I'm pretty sure the Guildhall bookshop is closed at weekends (Museum of London isn't).  Hate for you to have a wasted journey.
http://www.victorianlondon.org/frame-maps.htm don't know if this will help

bewepm - Thank you for letting me know. My husband is going to our local library today to peruse their contacts as per Ewood's suggestion. We shall do the Guidhall trip some time on a week day then, looking forward to that.

scarlett - thank you too, I am going to peruse that website & print off any info that will be of interest to him.
