finding someone buried

i wonder could someone advise me on how to find where a dear friend is buried so that i can go and pay my respects to them.i only found out recently by a relative that my school friend pass away a number of years ago at an early age.

Is there not anyone else you know who would maybe have been at the funeral? If it is a school friend that you could try contacting other people through friendsreunited. Otherwise, if you know when they died you could have a look through the local newspaper at your local library for the obituary which could have the funeral details. Remember though that not everyone is buried, it may have been a cremation.

If you know when they died, you could contact the Cemeteries Dept of the local council who should be able to tell you where the burial took place.

Some will charge you for this though, ours charges £20 for a search!
