Etiquette - ladies in waiting

The other night I watched a program about Majesty. We saw the 6 original ladies in waiting from the Queens Coronation having a reunion with the Queen. They all curtsied when they shook hands with HM but 3 of them also kissed her cheek. Were they possibly related to her in some way that the other 3 were not? Why not all get a kiss?

As far as I know none were(are) related to The Queen.
I think the ones that kissed were(from memory) childhood friends of The Queen(and therefore allowed to kiss her),but I cannot say WHICH of the Maids of Honour were the ones that kissed.
Have a look here(scroll down to Maids of Honour) to see the six:~

Thanks, I had a look at this page earlier. You may be right about the reason.

I have checked on two webpages for Peerage/Descent etc,and cannot find any link between ANY of the Maids of Honour and the Queen.
Of course they(the aristocracy) are all interelated(in one way or another) aren't they, but I think my theory is as good as any?
If I come across anything more I will post it for you.

I would go with In A Pickle's logic on this.

It is possible that in the intervening years, some of the ladies may have stayed in close touch with Her Maj., and others may have maintained more formal links, and that would dicatate the decorum of kissing the royal visage.
