I only caught a glimpse on the news last night - what happened to her? She was a sandwich short of a picnic basket wasn't she? Remember that time when she was on "The Word"

yeah she had a stroke.she was very drunk up on the word,i remember it.she had a trout pout like leslie ash didn't she.

I could never look at her the same after I heard an interview in which she recounted many a sexual tale involving orgasms on public transport and various oral acts.....ewwww........

She - was also a human being who had a son who has AIDS and a loving husband who were both at her bedside when she died.

Shame on you all who posted -and I'm not being sanctimonious. The woman is barely cold.

Those without sin....................

Dont bother having a wee dig at me cos I just stumbled on this and felt compelled to reply - so you would be just wasting your typing finger on me and I'm not worth it:)
whatever

No but, yeah but, no but, yeah but,

I treat people like you with disdain.I used to pussyfoot and try to keep to my own opinions but it just doesnt work on here anymore. You get shafted whatever you say or do so if I choose to grace you with my presence I shall say exactly what I want.

Wait on the next sarcy comment but I promise you it will be wasted because I wont be back to read anything on this particular thread.

Think its sad mocking a woman who has just died who did no-one any harm except to herself.

Rotten when someone gets the last word - are you bovvered?

Who is or was Ivy Tilsley?
The actress Lynne Perrie, who played Ivy Tilsley on Coronation Street.
Drisgirl I loved her as Ivy Tilsley, but her death does not erase our memories of her TV appearances, and loulou and Danni were only giving their opinions on a public figure. I also saw her judging men's bottoms and I will mostly remember that. It may be a shame but it isn't disrespectful and people will always talk about what public figures have done, after all that's why they do it, isn't it. No one has decried her private life!
sad fact of life that if you're in the public eye, people do tend to remember the scandals and outrageous things people have done. I know my mind immediately went to her appearance on The Word- that's human nature. However, I try to remember tha apparently she suffered very badly from depression so many of her actions could stem from that.
Its a terrible shame (and difficult to witness) when people behave irrationally or self-destructively, particularly when there demons: whether brought about through various forms of personality disorders or drink fuelled, or a combination of both, are displayed in public. As the natural sympathy one feels for their plight can give way to a morbid fascination at witnessing such a sad decline.

My last post, although it was relevant at the time appears out of kilter as there have been posts removed so as usual part of it appears as though I was having a psychotic episode.

Neti - I appreciate your response but I feel we should all remember the women at that time was battling a severe battle with alcoholism and depression and was not behaving in a rational manner.I found it disturbing to watch not funny nor even cringeworthy. She won the battale 13 yrs ago and I personally have not heard about her since.I think that speaks volumes.

Stevie - I agree with your comments wholeheartedly - just glad I'm not in the public eye:)

I am glad I came back on because I couldnt understand where the other posts had gone and I did feel I had more to add - hopefully in a rational manner.

I suspect one of the reasons you haven't heard much about her in recent years is due to the fact that unfortunately, her 'problems' made her virtually unemployable in the entertainment industry.

A friend of mine tried to resurrect her career about six or seven years ago when he cast her for a major role in one of his productions, sadly her behavioural and drinking problems at that time meant she was unable to keep it together, and the lack of stability and reliability meant that few, if any, in the industry dared (or could afford) to take a chance with her. Great shame.

Drisgirl....having a psychotic episode...?

The thought, I'm sure, never crossed anyone's mind!

Nice to see you back 'Warrior Woman' :)

NOW, JUST BEHAVE YOURSELF!

Very Sad.

Stevie being fascetious about Drisgirl ...?

The thought I'm sure never crossed my mind:)

Still R***ng and Pillaging - thankfully you've not got as far as me.There is a God and I'm agnostic !!!

I take exception to the Behave Yourself Stevie - I have worked long and hard over the years to do exactly the opposite so as long as my ar$e point down that is one thing I will never do:)

Nice to see you missed me though in spite of yourself - you're not completely heartlessx
