I am currently on sick leave from work and have been for the last four weeks. I am undergoing testing for suspected Diabetes but really do not wish to return to my job. I have recently had an interview for a new job and have a feeling I will be offered the post. Where do I stand on accepting a new job? And do I need to return to work before I leave?

You should give the required notice, although in practice it's unlikely they'd sue you for breach of contract.
Also you will probably be asked about your health/attendance record (or the reference request may ask for some details). Do they know you are currently off sick?
Will your doctor now support your return to work?
