Old Coins

I have a large quantity of very old English coins dating from 1805 - 1900. Although most of them are fairly unworn they are very grimy, making it difficult to decipher the date etc.

I want to sell them on ebay so how should I clean them without devaluing them too much ?

Should I just use warm soap and water to remove the grime ?
