Hi,

I'm looking for some feedback on my photos, does anyone mind having a look and telling me what they think if I put a link on here?

Thanks

Are there agencies that buy photos,or do you need to go to advertising agencies to get work? Have you a portfolio that you can show ?......I really think you have sell-able work there.....go for it!

Thats a good idea mollykins, may try that out.

I've had a look at some photographers websites and some are shockingly bad, can't believe people would go to them!

I like the one with the rainbow too, that was a good day, stood on a massive hill with a storm coming in!

You can use agencies that sell your photos but they normally just sell them for 50p each, its not a route I'd like to go down. I'm going to pick out my best photos and make up a portfolio. Thanks pastafreak :)
Let us know what happens....you've got real talent. x
would any of the local papers pay for piccies Caj-they may be wanting news items ones tho
i did a photo like that, but with bottles of paint, for a primary source picture in my project.
Question Author
i will do pastafreak, be great to come back and tell you all I've made it!

Possibly beejay, maybe if an event was on I could go down and take photos and see if they want them.

Will try it out mollykins
of course yours will be better, in every way posible, i imagine, i'm only a 16 year old art student.
have a mate who puts piccies into the guardian occasionally-tho they have their own photographers-may be best to ring them first
Question Author
Might not be mollykins, I'm older than you so have more experience, maybe by the time you're my age you'll be better than me! I'll upload the photo on flickr when I've done it.
Question Author
Thanks beejay, will look into that avenue, will try anything to get me off the ground and on my way!
Question Author
By the way if anyone can think up any creative names for my photos I will use them, that is where I am not so good!
papers don't pay much for photos; the national ones have their own photographers, smaller ones and magazines are more likely to go through agencies. But you never know your luck. The Guardian once printed a photo of mine right across the page. I was sort of pleased but couldn't help thinking it would have been nice if they'd (a) asked me, (b) paid me or (c) both! (It was a holiday snap I'd sent to one of the people in it, who happened to work there... next thing I knew she'd written a story for their travel pages and used my photo...)
Your pictures are very professional looking. Have you considered entering competitions? This way you could win something and other people would have a chance to see your work.

This is one competition - http://www.telegraph....l/hubs/thebigpicture/

Good luck.

You should have told them the photo belonged to you jno and you wanted payment for the use of it! I'd be proud just to get a photo in a paper and seen by people.

Thanks wolf, I have been looking at competitions thinking that I may enter some...wish me luck!!!
CAJ - you gotta be innit to winnit - or something like that.

Some of the 'posher' newspapers may be your best bet - or Jessops.
Question Author
Thats very true! Will let you know how I get on.

Thanks for all the comments and advice guys, much appreciated :)
What about this competition?

Question Author
Thanks wolf, I will enter that! Have to think of a good photo to compose now :)
Stunning ...If you aren't confident afterall the positive feedback might I suggest you print, and mount a big assortment and take them to one of the really top craft fairs....you'd get past the selection committee no problem I think a day with people snapping them up will convince you. There is a list of craft fairs and you should only consider doing an A rated one even one of the very top ones like Dulwich

I agree about one of the dog pics being lost in the background though one duff pic in so many

My cousin has been a pro snapper for years he'd kill to do some of the shots you have shared with us.
Question Author
Wow thanks for the feedback rowanwitch! That is a very good idea, I might just try that! I'm going to look for a list of craft fairs.

I'm sure if you're cousin is a pro his surely must be better than mine??!!
