First event - Ski Jumping qualification at 10.00am (6.00pm GMT)

Then the Opening Ceremony ay 6.00pm (2.00am GMT)

How will Vancouver do as a host city?

Personally, I wish the Games were being held somewhere romantic (and snowy) like Switzerland, or Austria, or Italy.

But hey ... we'll see.

In the meantime ... it's time to start the next countdown ...

JJ, do you think you'll be sleeping now that the Olympics is finally here? I imagine you'll be loading up on coffee. :-)
I'll be watching opening Ceremony tonight JJ, and looking forward to the Competitions starting tomorrow.
The Ice Hockey is one of my favourites as the Games are good.
Hope there's plenty of Snow !! lol

Question Author
Hi, guys x

Sorry ... had to pop out for a bit.

Peri ... I suppose Vancouver might have something worth seeing. Maybe we should organise an Alpha Jollies girls' weekend, and go and see !

beejay ... I hope it's wrong, but we will see.

Society ... I might have a lot of late nights, yes.

redman ... I will try to follow the Ice Hockey, although it's the event I least understand (apart from the Nordic Skiing).

Yogi ... I'd hate anyone to miss the start of the 2014 Games !

LOL
Morning peri x

I'll be in Paris on Saturday too, so niece wont be too far away, i'm sure :0)

"Living on a bl00dy island".....LOL..........you live in a lovely place, peri, so we're jealous too........do you think you'll have a chance of getting away on a short trip or holiday this year, my lovely?
absolutely JJ - you can do the skiing and I'll do the apres ............
JJ,

I'll put it in my diary,eh? ..................lol xx

:0)
What seems compulsory in the Ice Hockey especially between USA,Russia, Czeck and Canada are the Punchups. Top class sides but intense rivalry and a lot at stake.
Should be good !
yep yogi - we will definitely take a holiday and probably the states somewhere. went to Ohio last summer so dont know where this year. My OH gets on the computer and researches - its almost a hobby with him. My niece wants me to go to London in April for a bead show so that is possibly on the cards - we are coming into my OHs very busy season so we have to wait and see when everything will be happening
Question Author
Yes, redman ...

If you go on YouTube and search for "Ice Hockey"

... the top suggestion in the prompts window is "Fights" !
Thats great, peri and the bead show in London sounds like fun too. I've seen some of your work on here.......really lovely......you're very talented, sweetheart.
The States are so big....it's just deciding where to go. xxx

We're planning a Florida trip, as we were going to go Christmas, but could'nt, so put back to later this year now. mrs bear's family will meet us there and we'll have a big family holiday.........which i dont mind at all, as they're all really great fun and very nice folk. :0)
That'll be fantastic yogi - have been several times - let me know when you're going and where you are staying as have been several times and know it quite well
Thanks, peri....that'll be great....i've been a few times too but always look for different places to stay, for a bit of variety........i like Kissimmee a lot, as not busy and still quite near all the theme parks. International Drive is the place though, but busy, especially if you want Wet' n Wild. xx
