Old Ships

I need information on 2 old ships from the 1860's. They are called the Bertha which was a barque, and the Duke of Rothesay. There is a later ship called Duke of Rothesay, but this one is definitely fom the 1860's. I have acquired a notebook containing instructions to the man taking charge of the Duke of Rothesay, presumably from the owner, telling him about maintaining discipline, not to drive the ship too hard, maintenance of sails etc etc., There are also lists of labourers employed on the Bertha. I have tried googling them but all I can find is that some accounts and logs are in the National Archives at Kew. All I want to know is where the ships are from and where they operated. Any suggestions please?

Try contacting the National Maritime Museum at Greenwich. They have extensive archives.
