Thank you, Dotty
Shops on Sunday opening times, banks not open as far as I know
I've been waiting since last Monday for a cheque to clear and up to last night my account was the same as it was on friday and so no banking action over saturday through to yesterday and i anticipate the same today,
Banks are open on Wednesday
shops on sunday opening times? i dont think so, not today, well not here anyway, they are open as usual
sorry gina, it;s abank holiday, therefore staff do not have to work as it is optional and it is also classed as bank holiday working which means a day of in lieu, thereore to reduce staing costs many stores will be opening as sunday hours, where i work it is 10til 5 opening today,
Tesco is 24hrs I believe and possibly the bigger chains will open as normal, but most retail shopping areas on a reduced hour opening that I can see.
as i said not here they arent and unless stated in your contract bank holidays are not optional to work, if you check the store times locally i think youll find they are open near enough as usual
I don't need to check my contract gina I do the staff rota and follow the company;s policy and noone can be forced to work a bank holiday it is voluntary, and the tesco and asda here opened at 8am and close at 8pm tonight then resume normal opening tomorrow at 8am, I know that because I have their printed card here listing christmas opening times,
maybe i should explain better, unless it is in your contract that you DONT have to work bank holiday then you havent the right to have the time off
i didnt mean your personal contract
which retail company do you work for gina?
Today's not a bank holiday.
working or not working a bank holiday is not voluntary
it's a public holiday chuck. I know that.
if you are allowed to choose which you do or don't work by your employer it is gina, as I asked, which retail company do you draw your experience from?
and it doesnt mean that if you do work that you have to have the day off in lieu or get more pay. asda
