Hi, we have a couple of friends (husband and wife) who are both 50 at approx the same time. We're struggling to find something to buy them by way of a joint pressy. Something for the home perhaps. They have differing interests. Can anyone think of a gift we can give them that won't fall into the 'oh no not another vase' category. Thank you.

A voucher for a pre-paid meal at a decent restaurant?

Most homes could use some extra storage. A set of plastic storage boxes, perhaps on wheels, might be useful. (See pages 393 to 396 of the current Argos catalogue). Or perhaps a magazine-holder table?

Hi Bizzylizzy,

I mentioned this in a previous post in shopping. Why not look at the Red Letter Day website. Loads of stuff in there for 2 people.

We bought some friends of ours a rose brush. You can get them for specific occasions (they are named) and we bought a planter for it to go in - they love it and fortunately its flowered every year!
Get them a slow cooker...it will allow them the freedom to be out all day and have a lovely cooked meal waiting for them when they return,
