May I bid you all good evening, in her Ladyships absence I have been asked to throw open the doors and bid you welcome.
Following last weeks excellent suggestion that we may raise some funds by having a small select campsite in the grounds whilst the 'Family@ were away, some very posh tents were procured or purloined and various facilities installed. After a local ad campaign we had a few takers, but and here is the rub, the local Bewildered neighbours though it a wheeze to disrupt proceedings. Damage to the lawns and a deep clean to the moat had to be done so all that was left was enough to clear the ever mounting tab at the chippy,
So maybe a fish supper later, still it was worth a try.

For the raffle I have knitted a camel hair scarf, courtesy of Humph, very soft.

Do help yourselves to the nibbles and tailcocks.

Could have been a lot worse they had flame throwers ready, still no one demanded their money back I think they thought they were lucky to get away.

Still nothing ventured eh.
1,000,best wishes, hope the weather holds out,no shopping trollies or bodies in the moat I hope.the cellar is in tact at least
Hallo you three, I have been in the garden so I have brought a busy lizzie to the proceedings. Mamya, if you wish, I can donate profusions of tabby cat hair, it would knit up well, if a little oily?
Question Author
Indeed Petal, but we must take care as we all know what happened last time we helped to rid the place of the old dusty bottles. Still we have plenty tipple and nibbles here. I suppose it may busy up later.
I also have a few 'piles'......of cat hair ,for underwear knitting there of

Never tried that medium boxy, would give it a go though, ooh Impatiens my favourite what a lovely prize, will see what else I can find.
good evening! I do hope you don't mind my visiting. I have brought a HUGE pumpkin plant - it could be used to cover the marks on the lawn - or if you prefer, it could be raffled.
I have some fortune cookies but they are all in chinese I suppose we can work something out
Question Author
dozy you are most welcome and what a smashing gift to bring, do have a tailcock.
oh thank you so much, mamyalynne! Maybe just a tiny one - tailcocks can sometimes have unpredictable effects on me.
Question Author
Oh we get a lot of that but we cope, just a snifter then and a voltra vont maybe?
you'll be in good company here, dozeydo
ooh yes please, voltra vents! My favourite! Just don't knock into me after a tailcock - tailcocks activate my alarm system and I wouldn't like to shock you with any surprising noises! Alexanderd, does your fortune cookie mention anything about my problem?
a problem shared is a problem for more than one
Hello all, so sorry to hear the bewildered mob managed to scupper yet another great idea.
Perhaps it is time to have a cunning plan and get rid of them for good.
Please may I have £10 worth of raffle tickets, I must have the camel hair scarf.
How true! You are very perspicacious, kind sir.
Question Author
How excited, you are alarmed what a good idea, may get one of those too.
Have I got a cookie too or shall I make a pot of tea and you can read the leaves.
Oh yes, being alarmed is very exciting, if a little inconvenient at times. The big advantage is that I can raise it whenever an alarm is needed...... pardon me, but is there something moving out there in those bushes?
