There's a b&w film I remember seeing part of some years back which involves men driving huge delivery trucks at insane speeds though the countryside - they had to deliver fast but were disavowed by their employers if they were caught or crashed.
I think it was set during WWII but am not entirely sure. Any ideas as to the title?

[[ I also remember asking this question a couple of years ago on this site and getting the correct answer but now I've forgotten it again and can I find the original post? With the site update they forgot one vital thing - a "What You Posted" section. ]]

The film is 'Hell Drivers' made in 1958, starring Stanley Baker as the hero, Herbert Lom as the Italian good guy (fated to die of course) and Patrick McGoohan as the psycho baddie, who also had to come to sticky end. the drivers delivered rubble from a quarry, and were paid for each delivery, prompting ridiculously fast trips with ever more dangerous stunts involved. It's a great film, and it's on DVD - enjoy it.
Further to my previous response - the film also includes a young David McCallum, a young Jill Ireland, who married McCallum, and went on to marry Charles Bronson, and a very young, and in a minor role, Sean Connery.
Also, the trucks were never actually driven at high speeds. this effect was achieved by using speeded up film inserts. If any vehicle had attempted to corner at the speeds these lorries were supposed to have been movind at would have been cataputed off the road!!
