I am about to start on a jam-making marathon as I've got a bumper crop of plums and damsons at the moment. I keep all my glass jars throughout the year, and am aware that I can buy new lids for standard size jars at Lakeland. Does anyone know where I can buy bigger and smaller lids?

Hi K - use wax tops instead if you can't get the lids. This site: http://www.cookability.biz/jam-making/a_22.htm has lids - scroll down for items - as well as bunch of other acessories inc funnels, labels etc.

Few other similar on the web or try craft shops in your local town, as they often have suppiers lists that can be sourced too.

Thanks Nickmo for that, but because of limited storage space I want to be able to stack my jars of jam, and wax tops are not really very practical for that. If at all possible I would like to track down different sized metal lids.
HiK - ok, try this one: http://www.colorlites.com/store/home.php?cat=2 64

Call me old fashioned but if you can't source metal tops, just put a thin board on top of the jars in the store cupboard - then stack....

Hope the link helps..
have you tried
www.lakelandlimited.co.uk ?

Crisgal - Thanks....yes, I've been to Lakeland but they only sell lids (closures!) for standard sized jars, and unfortuntely I seem to have more jars of the non standard variety waiting to be filled with jam.

There are a couple of sites that appear in the Google adverts next to this question that I shall try to follow up on.
