My skin is like an oil slick. I have tried various foundations with varying degrees of success, plus under-make up blotters like Origins Zero Oil. Over the years I have spent an absolute fortune and need some help before I make my next purchase. I need something which will stay fresh and matte with the minimum of attention during the day.
It isn't a case of teenage hormones...my teenage years were ages ago, so I'm not going to grow out of it!
Thanks in advance, Ali

Hey i had exactly this problem and i have finally found a foundation that really works for me and stays put ALL day and is still on after 12 hours without having to reapply!
Its called "Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation"

It is 19 per bottle but is well worth it and lasts for months!!!

Thanks for that! It looks just the job.
Can you buy it at dept stores or is it only available by mail order?
yep no problem! you can get it on the mac site, sometimes on ebay and big department stores sell it too like selfridges etc! What to do is just do a search for Mac stockists in your area! i know theres a section on the Mac website where you can search for local stockists...

Go here and select your region :) It is a good buy very high coverage and matt - i find it goes together really well with maybelline pure powder if that helps!
Ali - have you heard of the new generation of make up which is made from minerals? I haven't tried it myself yet but have ordered a sample kit from barefaced beauty to give it a go. Apparently the make up is beneficial to the skin and you could even sleep in it and it won't harm your skin - could be hype maybe but I'm willing to give it a go. I have similar skin problems to you by the sound of things and have also spent a fortune on products for my skin. I currently use Dermalogica which is pretty good but I still get breakouts (I'm no teenager either at 37!!)

Thanks birdwoman, that's a new one . I'll look and see if barefaced beauty have a website. It sounds probably expensive, but if it works it will be worth it.

Thanks to both of you for your advice.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Hi, I have had my foundation colour matched by Prescriptives and they will tailor the foundation to your requirements ie they put in anti aging serum, or moisturiser or whatever you need. They match it to your neck colour so you don't have to worry about tide marks so it is absolutely individual. Prescriptives are in the larger department stores but if there isn't one local to you, it is worth travelling to get your initial blend then they keep your details on file and will make it up and post it to you when required. It is about 40 but as it made to be perfect for you, you will use every last drop. I would never buy foundation from anywhere else now.

Hi Birdwoman. I have just been on the barefaced beauty website and ordered the sample kit. It's definitely worth a try and looks as if it might actually be good for my skin whilst doing the job I need it to do.
Without your answer I wouldn't have been aware of these products.Thank you again.
