where are you going? I cannot decide where to go. I go to many different places as different towns have different shops. Bluewater is my favourite.

Well, Harrods first naturally. It's impossible to get a decent selection of cheeses anywhere else. Then I suppose it will be Lidl, who have some terrific deals on cleaning products this week.
Question Author
do you have any farmers markets near you? they always have a massive selection of cheeses, mmm I do love cheese. Not keen on harrods or lidl. Tescos is clear winner.

Actually I really do buy my cheese at Tesco, but also really do get cleaning products at Lidl. Never been to Bluewater because of the wide dirty grey bit of water that gets in the way.

Dartford crossing, what's that?

Question Author
Does that dirty grey water not stop you going to knightsbridge? I love Bluewater. I am this side of the dartford crossing though I do cross it if i have to go to lakeside. free parking at bluewater so worth the petrol and lovely cinema and food hall. I go alone, it is the best way. x
bluewater every time for me
I love lakside Bluewater is good too wont be going this weekend unfortunatly. Its Canterbury for me tomorrow theyve got just the same as bluewater/lakeside now its great
Sorry Salamanda, I think I should have avoided posting a message on this shopping category. To me shopping is usually just a necessity that has done: whereas you ladies treat it as an enjoyable experience. (If any of the other messages are not from ladies, oops!)
I usually go to Lakeside and dare i admit Basildon as that has some great shops now and is a bit closer to home for me!
I'm confused, Salamanda!

You say that 'different towns have different shops' and then say that your favourite place is Bluewater which, to me, seems to be full of all the same shops that every High Street has! No, I'm not knocking Bluewater (which I quite like although it doesn't have the 'friendly' feel that Sheffield's Meadowhall does). It's just that Bluewater is down the road from one of my favourite towns for it's selection of genuinely different shops: Rochester. If you've not been, it's well worth a visit.

Cheeses? My favourite supermarket has to be Waitrose. They're one of the few big stores who sell unpasteurised cheeses (including the marvellous Keen's Cheddar).

If you're ever visiting East Anglia, then this place (just south of Colchester) is the food outlet which everyone raves about:

Oh yes, back to your orginal question:
Where am I going shopping tomorrow? Well, as long as Eurostar still have some rail staff discount tickets available (19 each way), the answer is Paris (or possibly Brussels!).

Playbill, you know you like shopping thats why you are here right now!!!! It is a necessity. I don't go as a hobby, I need more trousers ;o)

Chris, bluewater is a little different to high street. I like that it is all undercover. Portsmouth and Brighton pretty good too. Never stray to far north. Anyway Im getting ready to go now...to Bluewater.

Have a fun day everyone. x

Question Author

No!! I went and got some new trousers and had a slice of pizza from villa pasta. Actually I was quite bored today shopping. It is not a hobby! wanted to see memoirs of a geisha but not on locally now :O(

I have my eye out for a mechanic though, as you well know.....or a chef.....or policeman.....or.......

Question Author
