The tables are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them.
You need to look at ebay and see if any have actually sold at that price.
Also as you are in NI the shipping will be very expensive.

Redhelen I've not had anything like that before - so don't have a clue how to sell them. Would an auction be interested (think there is one here in Belfast). As you say too expensive to sell on Ebay as such.

They’re lovely JJ, good luck if you’re selling them
There is several auctions in Belfast, one at the back of Victoria square (the name escapes me) and one in Bangor but the one in Bangor will not get top price.
I would try for an auction valuation jj. That will give you a realistic estimate of what they are worth.

I have them for many years and they are are second hand - I bought them from a house in a swanky area here in Belfast. He said he was sick of looking at them.
Just remember to be realistic, prices on ebay tend to be over inflated and yours may not reach anywhere near that amount
Our friends live in a swanky house in Belfast ( Holywood ) right on the lough :0)
Yes - the USA price may be unrealistic & the market there is probably better for such items. The UK seems to have gone more minimalist these days. They may be of interest to a dealer who ships regularly to the US.
JJ what about FB( if you do it ) Market Place? Although you may not get a good price there

I don't want them anymore but with this Covid business - do you make an appointment and bring them in and then what happens are they put online or zoomed or whatever they do.

I do know of another auction house in Hillsborough - like a shop effect - would they be interested. As I say it's all new to me.

Red - one of the auction houses is Laganside, Donegall Road - I'm off for a bit of brekkie. Of course I am realistic - I will be glad of anything monetarily.

thanks Bobbs - I'm not very good on Facebook - I just have a juke in now and again (nosey LOL). So that would be out of the question. wouldn't know what to do etc.
Get an online valuation from this Belfast auction house - just take some good photos
https://www.rosss.com/

Email this auction house with photos

Normally, with bigger items, you can send detailed photos to the auction house by email and they will give you a rough idea of value. If they think they are worth it they will even come and pick your items up for their sale. They will want to see photos of the underside of the tables for any import marks.

I would completely ignore the USA prices, as certain things are sought after in the USA that we regard in the UK as Junk -I'm not saying yours are 'junk' though, just that they may not sell at a retail price over here but be picked up by a dealer for export.

I would ring your nearest auction house for advice on valuation. They are usually very helpful as if they sell them they get a commission.
Ross is the one I am thinking of - thanks Barry
As for how to approach them - drop them an email and ask them
Just be aware that nest of tables like that are not that uncommon, we always had some very similar but from malaya in our home because people in the services would bring them back from tours abroad. They are also very old-fashioned so not that popular these days. Just trying to be realistic because that price on ebay isn't really IMO.
We recently tried to give away a nest of tables and nobody wanted them.
Yes auctions are strange places - we recently sold the most beautiful canteen of cutlery and it only made £50 when it should have reached a lot more - but a load of egyptian tat that cost pence made of 150!
