Looking to buy a cheapish bike approximately £300.
Probably mountain bike. Would like it to be light weight. I hired an excellent mountain bike years ago which was very cheap but unfortunately discontinued so know there are good bikes that don't cost an arm and leg.

Claud Butler do some good quality not too silly priced bikes. If your not doing any rough terrain stuff, I'd go for a 'hybrid' as they are much lighter than mountain bikes of the same cost and easier to ride on the road as they don't have knobbly tyres.

Thank you for your reply! My friend recommended Saracen and there is a bike shop that does both so will be going into town to have a look.
