My husband has a 54 inch chest size and struggles to find shirts to fit him. Does anyone know if there are any big man's clothes shops in East Anglia region? I know the alternative is to buy online but sometimes its nice to see the clothes before you buy. There used to be a shop called 'Waits' in Cambridge that stocked large size shirts but it closed down and we haven't found anywhere since.

Hi katielou there's a menswear shop called High & Mighty that you should try, don't know if there's one in your area though!

Hello katielou

I have often passed a shop, whilst travelling on a Greenline, called Eurosuits which stocks larger than average clothes for men.   It is situated at Apex Corner, Mill Hill, London NW7 3JR.

Osbornes. The Big Mans Shop.Fore Street.Beer.Devon.You can send for a catalogue and all the clothes are of a very good quality.Or visit the shop if possible.Highly recommended.
The suggestion that has been made for High & Mighty may mean a long drive for you. The nearest stores are London, Romford or Leicester. Details here:

There used to be a store on the Colchester ring road (almost opposite the Leisure Centre) but I can't seem to see it listed in an elderly copy of the Colchester Yellow Pages which I've got to hand. (Neither can I find it listed on Yell.com). Looking in Yellow Pages however, found me a couple of general menswear shops (both of which I know well) which make specific mentions in their advertisements about stocking larger sizes. Coes, 20-28 Norwich Rd, Ipswich is a very upmarket (i.e. pricey) store. Inces, in Stowmarket town centre (25 Ipswich Street) is an old-fashioned gents outfitter (much cheaper than Coes) which could be worth a look. (Phone numbers are, respectively, 01473 256061 and 01449 612664).

My copies of Yellow Pages are limited to an old copy of 'Colchester' and a current copy of 'Ipswich' but, given my success in finding some possible sources listed under 'Clothes Shops - Men's' it might be worth your while looking for similar advertisements in Yellow Pahges for your area. (Remember that your local library will have Yellow Pages for neighbouring areas as well as your own).

I've only just gone from a 32" waist to 34" so I haven't taken a great deal of interest in shops stocking larger sizes but I'll be visiting a few places in East Anglia in the next few days so I'll keep my eyes open and post again if I find anything of interest.

Chris
Well, I said I'd keep my eyes open for other places in East Anglia and I've just come across Biggerland, Commercial Road, Lowestoft (1XL to 8XL). It's right by the lifting bridge on the seafront just around the corner from the rail station.

Please post a reply to indicate whether you want me to keep reporting on any other places I find,

Chris

Hi katielou

I am a 62 and buy most of my clothing from Sizewell Clothing of Rayleigh. located on A127 London bound, behind Blinking Owl Cafe. Tel 01268 779933 or www.sizewell.co.uk. Their prices are very reasonable and they specialise from 2xl to 8xl.

Premier Man is also a good company. My husband buys all his shirts from there.
i have found this link which has it

A new site i have come across recently is Bodyfarm Clothing. Based somewhere in the UK they are doing some really unique and cool designs. Definately worth checking them out http://www.bodyfarmclothing.co.uk
