Its a pity the BBC didn't act as fast at looking into the likes of Gary Glitter and Jimmy Savile as they did Jeremy Clarkson!!

Did Gary Glitter work for the BBC?
I think you are comparing apples with oranges........
Question Author
my point is the BBC let Savile and Glitter molest kids and did nothing about it,working for the BBC has nothing to do with it, that the abuse took place at the BBC does!

///working for the BBC has nothing to do with it///

You read it here first people!
That was then and this is now....

Anyway, Clarkson was never a **********, was he????
It's as it should be, we cannot change history nor what is meant....sorry guys que sera sera!
“He had a better mind and a more rigorous temperament than me; he thought logically, and then acted on the conclusion of logical thought. Whereas most of us, I suspect, do the opposite: we make an instinctive decision, then build up an infrastructure of reasoning to justify it. And call the result common sense.”
from Julian Barnes, 'The Sense of an Ending'

wimp's logic definitely falls into the latter camp.
///that the abuse took place at the BBC does!///

Clarkson punched Oisin Tymon at an hotel in Yorkshire...

jackthehat...the abuse did take place at the BBC as i'm talking about Savile and Glitter! The main thing now is that Savile is dead and Glitter is in jail.As for Jeremy Clarkson,he'll have work whatever he does and good luck to him!!
wimp, it's a pity that you think physically and verbally abusing a colleague is acceptable behaviour.
Question Author
hc4361...It's a pity you don't seem to be bothered about what Savile and Glitter were getting up to becuse that's what this post is about!!!
they've acted fast on Clarkson because of the lessons they learnt from Savile (I don't know where Glitter comes into it, though).
(i) what Clarkson did, however deplorable, was not the same as GG and JS - not even within a mile of their offences - in fact, N.Yorks police are not even going to prosecute

(ii) when was GG working for the BBC? Most of JS's offences took place in the hospitals and homes.....

(iii) I think that GG and JS have been done over to death by ABers and this so-called linkage is redundant and not relevant.
You're making assumptions, wimp. I have commented on AB frequently about paedophilia and it is one of the most despicable crimes a person can commit.

It is possible to condemn BOTH paedophilia and assault in the workplace - it isn't a choice of one or the other.
Question Author
hc4361...where did i say that violence was acceptable??
Well you did wish him good luck - but that's up to you.

The other two - one is and one was despicable men.

Were the BBC slow to act on issues in the past ?- Yes.

Are the BBC quicker to act on issues now? - Yes.

Let's hope that continues.
Because you wished him good luck.
Question Author
I wished him good luck becouse i like the man, doesn't mean i think what he did was right, far from it and he should be charged!!
