Not sure this is the right section?
My wedding dress was professionally cleaned, packed and put into purpose designed wedding storage box. Up until now its been stored in spare room though I'm wondering is it ok to store in the loft? Im mindful of damp or it being too cold. Has anyone stored their dress in loft? Thanks

mine is in the loft but my loft isn't your loft....Mine gets hot and cold but touching wood, its bone dry....also my wedding dress is all cotton, it depends on what yours is made of, also mine is packed in acid free paper, then in cardboard, it will be different if your packaging is plastic....so maybe yes, maybe no.
Mine was zipped into a suitcase for many years in many rooms in the house, including the loft and was fine until the day I gave it away to get used for a zombie walk.
Are you going to wear it again - NO

So sell it.

Should have added, its wrapped in acid free paper, in box, no plastic. The dress is silk satin. Our house is only 10 years old so roof doesnt leak though does go hot and cold.
VHG, im saving it for my daughter in case she would like it
Real organic silk? Probably not worth trying to preserve it as an entire dress as silk is a devil for biodegrading. Take photos and if there are embroidered panels or any trim, its worth preserving that, mounted on acid free board and carefully packaged or framed. If you frame it, either put it away or display in the shade.
Mine is on the top of my wardrobe screwed up in an old plastic dry cleaning bag. It's been in that bag for as long as I can remember, and it was made 51 years ago. I really don't know what to do with it, but can't bear to part with it. Perhaps sell it on Ebay under Vintage clothes.
