go to the pound shop, youll be spoiled for choice :)
£1 buys a token to use in your shopping trolley !! loads of designs etc to choose from !!
One of the nice ones I got from someone with little cash, was a flip lid jar of sugar, containing a vanilla pod, if you have a large empty jar and some sugar in your cupboard, you could do that. Vanilla pod probably under £1
You can't go wrong at the 99p shops!!!
Buying from a pound shop (or a 99p shop) is a cop out.
Are you in to crafts?

I should hade added we are not allowed to go to the pound shop
The 99p shop I sometimes go in has really good things. Eg masses of different colour shape and sizes of emery boards. You can never have too many emery boards!
A lottery ticket!........Oh no.....scrap that.
Whilst I'm not suggesting anything from the £1 shop as a present, I was amazed what this shop can sell for £1.
Depends if your friend is male or female, also do you want a ‘funny’ present or serious one. Try here http://www.partypieces.co.uk/stocking-fillers-under-1-pound.html for stocking fillers under £1, they are mostly for children but there are a few adult type gifts the soap rose looks good. If it was me I’d get a roll of bubble wrap from Asda (or other supermarket) for £1, hours of fun!!
