blimey, i just keep mine on my coat till next year
There isn't an etiquette is there? Just bin 'em.
we used to take the kids poppoes to their nan's grave but not done that for years, you could put it in the recycling for plastic
tu B00, recycle recycle recycle......
i have so much trouble getting them to stay on with the stupid pin they give you (why not just make them velcro???) that once i have one that stays on it just stays on - i don't dare take it off
They often have a grass square at the local war memorial I guess you could poke them into that. I think they should have a recycling session. It does cause a degree of landfill waste I imagine.
When it's rumpled and crumpled I put it in the bin.
good idea recycle for next year, save you a few bob
I didn't need to dispose of mine, the dog ate it .
I don't wear one (impractical) but I have never had one last till Remembrance Day, they have always magically got lost somewhere and left me with just the pin.
my last years one is still on my coat, but i did put money in again this year
I'm not sure that's the right approach though Slinky, recycle yes, but not to save a 'few bob'.....it is about fund raising ultimately.
I never have mine ready for the next year, mine always falls off and gets lost by then! I wish they had better fastenings.

"When it's rumpled and crumpled I put it in the bin."

That should be on Thought for the Day.
If youve still got one left, throw it away and buy another one next year. Its all about raising funds after all.
I know someone who has kept the same poppy for several years , he does not buy a new one.
I put money in the tin it don't take a poppy but this year I didn't see poppies being sold anywhere (ok, I don't go far, but have only just realised that I didn't see any).
We are thinking of buying an enamel brooch each next year and putting a contribution in the boxes each year thereafter.
The others don't stay on your clothing anyway.
I've given up on the paper ones and now favour the permanent enamelled ones. Much smarter and I will always give, irrespective whether or not I take a poppy.
B00, every time you throw one away an angel dies. On behalf of my fellow heavenly citizens - stop it at once.
