I spotted what I thought was a bargain lens I knew was priced almost everywhere at approx £200- in "Currys" retail store it was displayed at £50 less than RRP. I enquired about the item and had a look through my camera with it attached before deciding to pay hard cash only to be told...."The price is actually £199 odd " -"You have to claim cash back from the lens manufacturer" online when registered.
What happens if the promotion is no longer valid?
Thanks to any responses in advance....

One of the reasons I NEVER buy at Currys/PCWorld...they will always try it on. Never a straightforward, trustworthy experience...which is why Which? rates them poorly.
...as for the promotion, the end-date should have been clearly stated.
Now that most of the major camera manufacturers do these cash back offers pretty well all authorised dealers advertise goods like this, they may only do so whilst the promotion is running and the promotion is usually of the form 'item purchased before such a date' so as long as they show the proper price after that date they aren't doing anything dodgy, I've claimed back on a few items with no problem but of course you do need the full price available up front.
There is probably a date limit on the claim as well, even if the item was bought within the purchase limit, otherwise they would be dealing with future claims ad infinitum. Currys are pretty good so they probably made a genuine mistake.
