BEST PLACE TO PURCHASE SOFAS

We purchased a sofa from Harveys Furniture Store and what a load of rubbish it was, it has been exchanged and this one is as bad so we are holding out for a refund. I just wondered if anyone could recommend a good place to purchase one. I don't know if we would be better in another big store or if a smaller independent shop would be best. We live in the Stockport area. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

About 10 years ago, (probably longer) I bought 2 sofas from a Glasgow store called Forrest Furnishing, in all that time I've only had to have new loose covers made (owing to living with 5 cats) the sofas themselves were very sound, it would also have been cheaper to buy new from one of these large retailers, but I reckon if you are looking for something to last a while, you would be better off buying from a smaller independent shop. I can heartily recommend Forrest (www.forrestfurnishing.co.uk) and also another Scottish retailer Sterling I've had excellent service from both of these companies over the years and cannot recommend them too highly. I know that you are down in Stockport but if you fancy a quick run up the M6/M74 you could give them a go - takes me about 4 hours from the east side of Edinburgh to get to Chester - Glasgow would be nearer to Stockport
The best one I ever got was from M&S..................
Just purchased one from John Lewis.
Maddison Range.Choice of brown or cream.Very pleased with it.

Hello,
That was unfortunate that you buy a new sofa and not get a good one, probably the sofa was not of a good quality, i would recommend you to visit the online furniture store of funique to get the quality sofas set, ensuring the lifetime purchase value for instance partita sofa set purely made by hand and many others..
