Online Grocery Shopping

I've just started doing some of my grocery shopping online. Does anyone out there know whether it is the done thing to give the driver a tip? Both times I have done the shop the driver was great. As it was, on both occasions I never had any cash on me anyway but I couldn't help feeling that perhaps I should have offered a tip. Any advice please.

No, just smile sweetly. I gave the driver a tip Xmas week and he didn't want to take it.

Thanks treetops1 - I was full of thanks but just felt guilty that I didn't know the score. I guess it would become quite expensive anyway if you started tipping all the time.
no i don;t think so
I don't think it's expected - and it's even possible that they are not supposed to accept - but I have given a couple of quid to a wine delivery person who was very helpful when I was crocked & couldn't carry the boxes from the front door to my kitchen myself.
... it was a biggish delivery ;+)
just the weekly supply then
Hic, burp ;)
I shop with Asda and they keep asking for feed back about the Driver etc, a lot of praise here will be more appreciated. The Driver today said that the feed back forms are the bane of his life if someone gives a bad report.
"I was crocked & couldn't carry the boxes from the front door to my kitchen myself."

Second delivery of the day then?

I never thought about having wine deliveries SunnyDave - that definitely wouldn't be a good idea for me!!!
I agree with Treetops. People are all to ready to complain when there is something wrong. But they rarely comment when someone has been particularly helpful. If you don't want to spend a stamp look online, although some of the stores don't have feedback.
I had (whilst stone cold sober m'lud) stubbed my foot on a case of wine that some idle pillock - well me actually - had left in an unexpected place ...

... and broken my toe.

The only answer was to order more wine to dull the pain :+)

Tesco have not, as yet, asked me for any feedback about the service. The only two very slight problems I have encountered was the fact that I received something slightly different than which I thought I had ordered (in the second case packs of Ready Salted Crisps instead of Salt & Vinegar) but when I read my order I can see it was my own mistake anyway. I guess it is just a case of learn as you go along.
it would never cross my mind to !!
I've been shopping online for about 10 years and never tip the delivery man. I do give him a rather good bottle of wine each Xmas.
I'm glad you asked this question ozzy as I've often wondered. I don't tip myself but if I had the same delivery chap all the time I would give a Christmas tip I think.
When i worked at Asda, we wasnt aloud to take things from customers. A customer bought me some chocolate one year & i had to check with managment if i could keep it.
