matresses

what is a hollow frame mattress?
i am looking at baby monitors and the one i would like says it can't be used with a hollow framed mattress. As i need to buy a mattress too, i need to know what one is (it sounds obvious doesn't it, but i want to get it right!)

Is it stretched over a frame bednobs, making it hollow rather than a solid mattress? Pureflow or something similar springs to mind.
