spanx power pants

Have you tried spanx power pants? I am off to a ball on Friday, just tried on my ball gown and the waistband on my M&S control pants shows (makes a ridge in the silk dress). Are the spanx pants as good as I am lead to believe and will the waistband problem still be there? Any advice please. Thankyou
