Hello lovely people :-) I need some fashion advice to help me not look like mutton dressed as lamb this summer.
I am wanting to buy some summer dresses but am unsure what type to buy for my age etc.
I am 5ft 4in,size 8/10 depending on manufacturer and am 40 years old next month.I definitely do not do mini skirts/dresses and would prefer something not low cut as i'm quite flat chested,I also don't like maxi dresses as I think they make me look like i'm wearing a nightie.lol.
Thanks in advance for any help and advice.xxx

Hi weeal,thanks for your help :-)
I like this one:

But the others are really not my style.I am so stuck as to what I should be wearing now at this age.I currently live in jeans and t-shirts but would like some new summery stuff.The kind of stuff I like I think may be too young in style for me.My favourite website of the moment is republic but their dresses are quite young styled.

I see what you mean about republic lol, Im too old (43) for any of them but you dont want to be a fuddy duddy either, some styles suit all ages, the one I like best wont work when i post the link
try this: http://www.empirestores.co.uk/Product/ProductZ oomPopUpNew.aspx?title=RUCHED+DRESS&&image=%2f %2fmedia.laredoute.fr%2fUK%2fEmpire%2fProduct% 2fpicture%2fZ_MA2209.JPG&&scene7=s7_MA2209.JPG
Hi, hun! I certainly don't think you look your age (not that it's old, anyway) and you have a lovely figure, so you can get away with a lot.

I think as long as dresses/skirts/shorts aren't too short and tops aren't too low then you can't go wrong. :)

I like that last one weeal but I was thinking more day wear,I would wear that style to a meal or an afternoon/evening do though! it is very pretty.
Awww,thanks whiskeysheri,its sweet of you to say that.This aging thing takes a bit of getting used to as I still have the mindset of a much younger person.Now that i'm a grandma I suppose I should start being a bit more respectable.lol. I would hate for my daughters and grandchildren to be embarrassed by me! You see some people dressed really wrong for their age and shape and they just seem oblivious to it.
oh bum, my links just dont work lol

hi whiskey <:-)
