sizing of Birkenstocks?

I'm looking to buy some Birkenstocks but as I'm likely to buy them online and won't be trying on I wonder if anyone knows if they are on the large or the small side.
I'm a 3 usually but in certain shoes that are small fitting I get a 4.

Hi they are on the large size, so get a size smaller than you would usually get
