Mens opinion on a pendant/necklace for the boyfriend please!

From a mans perspective, would you prefer to receive a dog tag with special engraving on it (or would you be naffed off if someone bought you a dogtag?) or a timecapsule necklace (for men!! not a girly one!) with a handwritten message inside it? There are godtags out there that look like razors too, what's your opinion on these three pendant-ideas, and which one, if any, would you be happy to receive?

Also, would you prefer silver, steel, or not give a flying f*ck? Thanks for any help!!

My 23 year old wants dogtags for Christmas. He thinks they're cool. I saw some nice silver ones which also had a St Christopher on. I quite like the idea of the combination.

I've seen men wearing dogtags and think it is a nice present. It seems most men were too lazy to reply or don't look in this category much.
