haloween in america is just brilliant, they (them crazy yankies) celebrate it so excellently, do you think us Brits will ever endorse it to the same manor?

I doubt it, you know how boring and reserved we all are.
If you want my opinion, move to USA. I am doing it soon and i'll never come back - even to visit.
3 people every minute leave this country for good - whats that telling us!!

I have to admit that I'm glad i'm glad we don't celebrate Halloween the same as our American cousins.

I personally think there's something quite repulsive in kids knocking on doors begging for sweets.

Let the Americans keep it- along with Paris Hilton.

we teach our kids not to go with strangers and all that then let them knock on doors for sweets.

I was wondering if you guys "did" halloween. I agree that the strangers thing is scary in today's world. When i was child, we only went to neighbors and grandma's house for trick or treating. Mom went over that bag of candy like scientist looking through a microscope.

The community where I live has tried to help create a safe environment by having local merchants sponsor a "Trick or Treat" walk. Our local business area is about three blocks long and the merchants provide candy. This does not totally eliminate the stranger factor, but is better than door to door knocking. It is cute to see the little ones in their costumes and it sort of brings back the small town feeling we had when i was young. It is the older one's who throw eggs and spray shaving cream that ruin it.

We don't want Paris Hilton either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL
