Mine come down on the 2nd- can't say I'll be sorry this year either as my tree is looking very wilted and sorry for itself now.

I always thought it was meant to be on the fifth of January, due to the arrival of the three wise men. Traditionally that is.

B00, my tree looks the same as when i put it up 'small and inoffensive' ;-)

I took mine down on Friday - after Christmas I want to get them out of the way; I'm fed up with the tree by then, especially when there are no pressies under the tree, it looks too bare.

Are you all mad???? They come down just before 12th night and not before!! All that effort to put them up, they can stay there for now and they do look pretty.

6th January (12th Night) is when they are supposed to come down. According to superstition if you take them down before then you will suffer bad luck...and if you take them down afterwards you actually have to leave a decoration in place all year!

That must be why my mother still has her christmas cards on the mantelpiece in March. She has always left her decorations and tree up until my birthday on the 8th ;o)

Mine never went up, when you have cats and dogs its just a waste of time and effort.
