cool, i have one person agree with me, thats all i need to knock down the evil humbug shield around the box of decorations
-- answer removed --
dont put em up at all, they look awful and tacky- especially if your one of those simpetons who puts them on the roof and the exterior of your house and charges people to fund your astronomical electricity bill.
i have to go now as there is a giant snake sliding down edgeware road and i must defeat it.
Good grief - that's one fast moving indestructable snake - just spotted it here too!

We're putting our deccies up round the weekend of 10th December - and I think even that's early. Actually doing outside lights this year. Have to or people won't visit us anymore - moaning gits keep complaining our trees block the light. They can't be that big, Santa's reindeers have never been caught up in them....

i cant put things outside cos i like in housing association flats and they wont let me. if i could i'd probably just put lights out, not go overboard or anything.

oh yeh, pianoman, - Bah Humbug!
Yes......too early, put them up next weekend.
Yes - Far too early 2 weeks before Christmas is plenty of time.
If putting up your decs makes you happy and feel Christmassy just do it.

There's nothing wrong with enjoying anything about Christmas its supposed to be a fun time. Enjoy your decorating hope you do it today. I always love loads of lights and a beautiful tree - it makes you smile every morning when you get up. Ignore the humbug people.

I have to wait until next weekend cos my husband is going to sand the floors!!!! EEEK!
I've had ours up for the last 3 weeks. put them up when YOU want. ignore all the other **********.
Well said Pianoman.
Immi666 asked a question, I gave an answer. Now if the answer I gave (far too early to out up decs) is not to your agreement there's no need to get abusive about it (bah humbug etc).
This is afterall an answerbank.....ask a question get an answer....the aim being to get amultitude of answers i.e. not all the same, and then the person who asked the question has the opinions of a wise (??) few to make a decision.

Be nice, it's nearly Christmas!!!
In my personal opinion and in my house....

Yes it is far too early. We put our decorations up on Christmas eve and no earlier. It is simply the way we have always done things in our house and is the way we like it. We have the most amazing time and it is very special to us....

However....you are not in my house, you are in your house so you should do whatever makes you happy so get them up there if that is what you want!!

:o)
Our's go up a week before Xmas Immi, I love to see the light's twinkling and the tree shimmering. Not only that, its nice to see light's in other people's homes, brightens up these dark nights. We dont go overboard, just the tree and lights in the window with a candlebridge. You do what you want to do,ignore the "Bah *********'s":-)))
oopsie, I put and extended "gurr's" on the end of Humbug.
Have you put them up then?
I've seen a few up already, ours will be staying in storage until at least 10th December! Bah humbug!
I was sitting in a traffic jam last night & noticed a lit up Christmas tree inside a house - even though it looked cosy & cheerful, I couldn't believe my eyes!

It's both our Granddaughter's birthdays on the 4th Dec, so we like to celebrate those before getting the tree & dec's out of the loft - usually around the 10th too.

thanks for your varied opinions guys. i do value everyone's opinions, even the ones i dont agree with. i was really looking for validation for the decision i'd already made - which i got in abundance.

i dont normally put my decorations up til around the 10th, but i'm a depressive and quite low at the moment, and christmas always makes me feel better so........

they're going up tonight!!!
Hear Hear skigirl:-)
