I am filling out the form to renew my son's passport (he is 13) but I cannot work out from the website or the accompanying booklet if anything needs to be written on the back of his photos.
Can anyone help please?

Thanks Sqad. xx

How did you know his name is Bill Bloggs?
LOL.....everybody in Whitby is Bill Bloggs or a relative of Bill Bloggs.

By the way, the back of the photograph will need to be signed by a doctor or schoolmaster or...... and his qualifications.

No, that is only for a first time application
Ah! sorry.
Mrs O - the details of the very words are contained on the notes to filling out the passport

also I cant remember if the photo is signed and dated or whether that is on the form - but the notes tell you.

Check or else you have to go back to the signer and say oops can you....
I think the photo/form might have to be counter-signed if the individual's appearance has changed significantly since the last passport.
No....just send off the old passport. The old passport verifies who they are.
oopa boys and girls that reminds me...

I have to renew mine....

they have known the adult who signed the
declaration in section 9 of the application
form for at least two years, and certify the
photograph (giving the child’s full name),
signing and dating it as shown in the example
below, and
• put their initials next to any mistakes they

Thanks all

I don't know if I am being thick today or if it is as clear as mud
Fluff...that's not for a renewal?

I just sent off my sons passport with new photo's. They have the originals on record.
if you read page 10, it is for a renewal
LOL....don't you wish you had never asked?
When i renewed my kids passports two years ago I'm sure I had to get them countersigned.
Have you got a local shop near you? My shopkeeper signs for my kids. If they hold a license to sell alcohol they can sign passport photos because they have to registered with the council.
Ah, under 11's which one of mine was at the time.
Question Author
fluff, it says if the child is age 12-15 it only needs to be countersigned if they cannot be recognised from the photo in their current passport.
He is in the 12-15 age bracket and CAN be recognised...so that takes me back to square one
Fill the form in and send off his expired passport with updated photos. My sons new passport arrived in about a week.
