It was ok, lights were a bit bright though!

common complaint at celeidhs
An explanation of your heading ('Not Invited') would be interesting, Haggis!
(Were you gatecrashing again? Tut!)

Your reference to ceilidhs reminds me of the staff/parent barn dances I helped to arrange when I was teaching. Great fun and I even got to dance with Miss England (even if it was only dosey does rather than 'close contact' dancing!)
I really mist learn to type faster!
(Please ignore my redundant request for an explanation of your title!)
Glad to hear about the accordion players.

But, no Jimmy, no cèilidh...
Respect for spelling 'cèilidh' properly, Chris. Obviously, no Scottish person would ever misspell that... ;-)

Have to say, I quite enjoy hearing young fellas giving it lalldy on the bass and accordion!
I just enjoy young fellas, bring em on.
. . . but I could have used the Irish spelling ('céilí'), Mark ;-)
Question Author
Chris, love to know, Miss England??
Could you? Was the OP at a do in Ireland, then...?
Behave you two .
Question Author
Slander!!
Well, it could have been a 'Scottish style' dance in Dublin, Mark ;-)
Libel, actually - look it up...
Haggis:
When I was teaching, the reigning 'Miss England' was a friend of (or, possibly, a family member of) the parents of one of our pupils. They invited her to join them at one of out staff/parent barn dances and I was invited to dance with her.

She was tall, elegant, totally inarticulate and clearly 'totally out of her depth' ;-)
