The key is not to think about falling asleep -just get yourself comfy,cosy shut your eyes and relax and it'll be morning :)
What is the dose? it react differently with different people, we have a lady that will fall asleep within 3 mins of taking one 10mg tablet.
Sorry, you gave the dose, lol

Hi Ratter, yes it is 10mg and I'm 11 st, 6. I want to take it now but I also want to read for a bit before I fall asleep! Will I snore and wake my oh up as him snoring keeps me awake!
i believe oral medication may take 30 minutes "approx" to take effect.
Question Author
Thank you, going to take it now. ZZZZZ!

if it is your first time taking the medication wheaten, we all react to medication differently. id hate to think i mislead you about the 30minutes, although 3minutes is very quick ?
Ann, when this lady first came to us we didnt expect it either, we gave her her tablet then immediately started walking her to her bedroom, she fell to the floor asleep on route, we now make sure she is in bed before giving her meds. I agree it is quick and other residents take longer but mostly well within 30 mins.
ratter, thats interesting, i would think oral medication may take a wee while to be absorbed, but, " im no expert " hope you and mrs are well.

Hi (to Anneasquith), meds took about 20 minutes. Had a lovely sleep, no sweats, chills etc or waking up to go to the loo. Slept through til 8am and have not felt tired today, as I would usually do. Can't wait for tonight's dose as husband says 'we never do anything as you're always tired'. Oh, hold on.. he'll be watching the rugby so we won't be doing anything anyway!
Is that a POM medicine, by the way?
From working in Residential homes, I've noticed there can be a big difference in effects on different people. I've also seen very elderly people fall asleep almost immediately on it, and others still walking around for the whole night.
hi wheaten, i posted earlier on molly"s thread to ask you how things went last night. so glad you had a good night sleep and that you feel the benefit of it today,,,,,,,, anne

Hi Anne, saw it on Molly's thread but didn't want to confuse things. Thanks for asking.(what is 'a POM medicine'? Oops, yes it is, just looked it up!)
It is also a "Controlled Drug"
POM = pharmacy/prescription only drug

You'll find the letters somewhere on the box and sometimes on the inner packet when possible to print it there
