Big bang vs gravity?

If the universe was a singularity at the moment of the Big bang , did gravity exist and if it did was it infinite?

I am no physicist but I've always understood that gravity is a force exerted on one body by others. Since at the point immediately before the big bang there was only one body, I would have thought that gravity was nil, as would have been electrical charge.
