Please does anyone know the risks associated with Laser marking/engraving machines? What are the safety regulations for them? I believe this is a Class 4 laser as it has the warning sticker about "invisible scattered radiation" on it..I used one in the past that had a fully enclosed glass interlocked cabinet around it but the new one I have seen is completely open!? My Boss has made a perspex guard to go on it but is this sufficent?

Are you supplied with goggles?

I use a 4kw laser which is a lot more powerful than anything to engrave with and we dont have to have the guards shut at all times. The engineers work on these machines and rarely even wear goggles.

If the machine has been manufactured so that it has no screens then Im sure it would be fine but you can always ask the manufacturer for details if youre worried.
