Hi, At it`s largest , viewed from any point in the world,with the naked eye. Could venus ever be mistaken for the moon, in an condition (day or night)

Venus is also know as the morning star as it is very bright in the morning. You would never think it was the moon as it's so small, more like a big star.

Through a telescope Venus and Mercury show phases just like the Moon and appear as crescents at certain times. With the naked eye however the angular diameter of Venus is far too small to make out the phase. It will have the appearance of a very bright star, the third brightest object in the sky.
