rechargeable batteries vs ordinary

Has anyone figured out weather it is in fact more economical to use rechargeable batteries rather than the normal ones..i.e charging costs and initial outlay??

Rechargeable batteries are better value.

Obviously this depends upon how many times you recharge the rechargeable battery.


However, the majority of the cost of a battery is due to the materials required to manufacture it. In comparison the energy taken to recharge a battery is trivial.
