I read some where recently that some new galaxies have been discovered , which means that cosmologists and other will have to change their previously accepted understanding of the universe

If i remember correctly the galaxies are older than when the universe is thought to have been created

Just googled - here is the info

https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/news/universe-galaxies-milky-way-hubble-nasa-discovery-breakthrough-latest-a9045951.html

Just shows there is a lot we thought we knew , but we don't ?

No, theyare not older than the universe, they formed in the first 2 billion years of the universe. However finding them does mean that astronomers neet to think again about galaxy formation in the early (well relatively) life of the universe.
