I have suddenly gone brain dead.
I have driven 264 miles and used 33.28 litres of petrol. Can anyone tell me what my miles per gallon are please. Also how many miles per litre. Thanks.

7 gallons so 37.71 mpg
Yep, I was going to go with a slight rounded down answer of 37mpg.
Actually it's 7.32 gallons so 36 mpg.

Thanks. Is that good for a 1.4 Corsa. Max speed on the roads is 40 MPH but mostly 30MPH.
If it's urban driving then it's not bad. Maybe a bit low.
4.54 Litres = 1 gallon
On 'out of town' driving I would expect a 1.4 corsa to do a lot more than that nearer 50mpg.
Honest John in the Saturday Telegraph wouldn't be too surprised by your MPG...

Thanks for that Eccles. So my 36MPG is crap. My Corsa is on a 08 plate. Never checked the mileage before as it was just shopping etc. I'm now doing approx 250 miles per week.I also have a full service history for it.
You said you don't do more than 40, so I assume it's mainly urban driving so, as I said, 36 isn't too bad
Jeza, does your journey involve a lot of stop /starting ie traffic lights, junctions ext ?.
I wouldn't say your MPG is crap. You are driving at low speeds with lots of stops and starts; crap conditions for a decent MPG. Good MPG is achieved over a steady cruising speed.
I don't think you scrolled through my link to se the variation between models Jeza.

I did Eccles.
It is through my home town so traffic lights and roundabouts then on to country lanes for about 10 miles then back on to a main road with traffic lights and roundabouts. On all the roads the max speed is 40 but most are 30.
To work out miles per litre just divide 264 by 33.28.

It's odd that in these metric times we buy petrol in litres but still think about petrol consumption in terms of miles per gallon. Having said that, using miles per litre (or litres per mile) would seem odd because we'd be mixing metric and imperial.
Then has Zac says your mpg isn't to bad.

Thanks to everyone who has helped me. So the conditions and my MPG are okay for the said journey. I just wish the hospital was nearer home.
