not
I go for a mixture of both. If I know I want something specific then I'll just order it online for ease and I'll probably get it cheaper but I'm looking forward to having a shopping day on Friday where I can get some inspiration and have a proper look at things before I buy them.
It certainly does when internet shipping distribution centres are snowbound like last year!
The main thing I hate hate hate about xmas is shopping. So no, it doesn't spoil it. It makes it a little bit more bearable...

order early.... I started in November when people started dropping hints.... only waiting on four items now.... all due in the next few days
I try and do it all online...
I wish I could get everything on the internet... unfortunately to 'verification by visa' process I can not... For some reason it doesn't like my card details and the bank blame them and they blame the bank. If I could do all my shopping online I'd be giddy with joy. I do not like shopping.
A very useful facility to have as backup !
Cheaper as well
And the internet shopping only works well if the company uses a reliable delivery company unlike the likes of Yodel aka HDNL - but I won't go into my current gripe with them here.
I give everybody money, and have done for years. Strangely, no-one has ever complained...
I actually do the same as Mark.....now.

I suppose it depends how much money you can afford to give them...
Are you implying you miss something by not enduring the crowds shopping ? Sorry can't see that being a part of Xmas to savour, somehow.

No the only thing I'd be concerned about with mail/Internet order is not getting the stuff in time. A site I looked at recently went to great lengths to honestly say that a parcel was only declared lost by the PO after 15 days so they'd not consider doing anything re undelivered parcels until after that time. so I was happy to go elsewhere; the risk being judged too great.
Ahhhh I hate giving money. Especially to kids. Since the time I was pressured into giving money to someone as they wanted something specific. They ended up with enough cash to buy two of what they wanted but they never even got one. I felt a bit cheated.

Its why for important stuff I pay the premium for guaranteed delivery... couple of times things have been a bit late phoned the supplier and they have sent a replacement... once both arrived on the same day... phoned them to tell them and they said I could keep both...
I love the Christmas atmosphere in the shops - the decorations and carols playing but I hate the crowds, my sore feet and especially carrying heavy shopping back to the bus as I don't drive. The internet, especially Amazon is brilliant - Amazon should be re-named Amaz-ing! Ordered 2 Cds and a DVD on monday and they have just arrived!
> I suppose it depends how much money you can afford to give them...

Everybody gets £100 each.
I went to buy some paint today....I will not be venturing out again until February...
No sorry ordered them on Saturday not Monday and they just arrived but still good going! They have never once let me down at Christmas!
